Field Notes

Start here.

This is a journal of nightmares — mine, mostly, though not all of them are frightening. Some are small and quiet. Some are funny in the way that only very large or very small things can be. They're set in one world told at two sizes at once: the macro and the micro, the vast and the vanishing.

You don't need an account to read anything here. Wander in, follow a thread, leave when you like.

How this is organized

On the darker chapters

Some of what's here is meant for adults, and it's marked. Content warnings sit on the stories that carry them, and if there's a kind of nightmare you'd rather never see, you can turn it off — permanently, for you — on the Content Preferences page. Blocked tags hide their stories and covers everywhere on the archive.

Where to begin

If you're not sure, let the archive pick: read a story, at random, or browse the whole thing.

— kept, mostly so I can stop dreaming them. K.
